Video: 'Music Without Borders' Heads to China

It might be hot and steamy outside, but that did not stop fans of outdoor music from settling on the Green Wednesday, July 20, for the ongoing "Music Without Borders" program.

Initiated in spring 2010, this series of free outdoor world music concerts reflects a collaboration between the and .

On Wednesday, a trio of musicians of "Music from China" provided listeners with a cultural escape. The New York-based ensemble featured Wang Guowei on erhu (a 2-string fiddle with snakeskin resonator), Wang Junling on zheng (21-string zither with movable bridges) and Susan Cheng on the yangqin (hammered dulcimer).
