CVS Information Session Slated for Thursday

Planners, professionals involved with proposed project will be on-hand between 7 and 9 p.m. at the Senior Center in Town Hall.

Those interested in learning more about a proposed CVS in Morristown should head to the Senior Center at Town Hall Thursday, where an information session on the plan is scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m.

CVS has expressed interest in coverting the abandoned auto dealer’s buildings at Spring Street and Speedwell Avenue into a new pharmacy. The plan is aimed at a parcel originally to be developed in Phase 4 of the Speedwell Redevelopment project that would transform the north side of Morristown.

CVS approached the town and the owner of the vacant 2.77-acre property with a plan to replace the vacant buildings with a new store. The property transfer could take place by November, and if the CVS application is approved, a new 23,000-square foot store could be on the site by August 2013.

Town Planner Phil Abramson, of Jonathan Rose Companies, said three information stations will be set up for the information session: building design and architecture; site design, landscape and streetscape; and traffic and off-site improvements. The proposed project's civil engineer, traffic engineer, architect and planner are among the experts expected to be in attendance.
