Restaurants Partner with First Night

Continuing their efforts to not only get the word out about , but also get more members of the community involved, First Night organizers introduced an appetizing promotion this year.

Called "First Dine," First Night partnered with 11 Morristown restaurants, which are offering discounts for First Night Morris 2012 ticket holders. Specials range from 15 percent off purchases at , to a $22 family meal special at . Ticket holders must either show their "First Night" buttons, or tickets in order to receive the promotions.

"I think it's great," said Eddie Matos, owner of , which is offering 15 percent off purchases from 2 to 4 p.m. through First Dine. "With the economy being the way it is, it's tough to spend money. No one is knocking it out of the park. But, this town is very well kept and very well suited for something like this.

"Hopefully, the weather [on New Year's Eve] is nice and the crowd turns out," Matos said. "It'll be great for business and great for those who don't realize we have all these restaurants."

First Night 2012 Director Craig Schlosser noted the First Dine program has in part been emulated from the Greater Parsippany Rewards program, which has been very successful.

"We asked, 'how can we help with consumer spending,'" Schlosser said. "This is a great way to get them (participating restaurants) engaged, and it's a nice thing to do overall that helps the overall economy."

Discounts are good through December.

Participating locations are:

, 270 South St.: Save $15 with a purchase of $30 or more (Visit store for restrictions).

, 90 South St.: Save 15 percent on your purchase from 2 to  p.m.

, 96 Elm St.: Save 10 percent on your purchase.

, 84 Speedwell Ave.: Save 15 percent on your purchase.

, 7 Elm St.: Save 5 percent on any purchase of $45 or more.

, 3 Speedwell Ave. (in Hyatt Morristown): Save 15 percent on your purchase Wednesday through Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m.

, 73 Morris St: Save 5 percent on purchases of $50 or more.

, 7 South Park Place: $22 Family Meal special, includes
one large pie with one topping, garlic bread, salad and a 2-liter soda.

, 125 Morris St.: Save 25 percent with a purchase of $25 or more, or get a large pie with one topping for $11.50.

, 11 South St.: Save 15 percent on your purchase.

, 20 South St.: Save 10 percent on any large pie.

, 78 Morris St., Save $2 on a large pizza, or $5 on two large pizzas.
