Law Firm Hires Former Port Authority Executive

Bill Baroni, the deputy executive director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey who resigned amid the “Bridgegate” scandal, has landed on his feet with a New Jersey law firm.

Hill Wallack LLP, with New Jersey offices in Princeton and Morristown as well as Yardley, Pennsylvania, announced Wednesday Baroni had joined the firm as counsel.

“We are delighted to have Bill join the Hill Wallack LLP team,” Managing Partner Bob Bacso said in the announcement. “Bill’s extensive experience in business and finance, and education and non-profit sectors will prove to be very beneficial to the firm’s clients.”

Baroni resigned from his post at the Port Authority in December, just three months after lane closures from Fort Lee to the George Washington Bridge created nightmare traffic for an alleged traffic study.

Baroni testified in November saying the closures were part of the study, but his statements have been contradicted by documents from the Port Authority as well as Governor Chris Christie’s office.

Hill Wallack LLP has 70 lawyers and represents businesses, nonprofit and government entities and individuals, according to its website.
