Local Businesses Collect $2,500 for CASA

Court Appointed Special Advocates of Morris and Sussex Counties is based in Morristown.

Over 20 local businesses in Morris and Sussex counties participated in a collaborative effort to support children who are victims of abuse and neglect.

In recognition of the plight of children in the foster care system, local businesses displayed pictures of the children in their businesses and collectively raised approximately $2,000 in donations for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Morris and Sussex Counties, a local non-profit that recruits, trains, and supervises community volunteers to speak up for children removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect or abandonment. This branch of CASA is based in Morristown.

Gerry Russo, owner of Plaza Barber Shop in Morristown, collected donations from his customers and in his role as Grand Knight of the George Washington Council of the Knights of Columbus, received a $500 donation from the Knights, who have been supporters of CASA for many years.
