Morristown Computer Solutions Comes to Town

Computer repair, service business opened on Pine Street in December.

For owner Ates Yeger, it took a bad experience to lead him into what became his new career.

It was 20 years ago when Yeger, a native of Turkey that moved to the United States in 1982, bought a major-brand computer that quickly went on the blink.

So, like most computer owners with an issue, he called the company's tech support line. The result?

"What they said didn't make any sense," said Yeger, who opened Morristown Computer Solutions in December on Pine Street. Yeger also has another location in Randolph, called Randolph Computer Solutions.

Already into electronics, Yeger knew a thing or two, but he didn't expect he would have to apply that knowledge when he was the one looking for help. "He started teaching them over the phone," said Umit Yeger, Ates' wife.

"That triggered me," Ates Yeger said.

Since then, he has become trained in the repair and installation for both P.C.'s and Mac's. In addition, Morristown Computer Solutions offers a number of data transfer services, from VHS to DVD, cassette to CD and more.

They also do house calls. On the day Morristown Patch was scheduled to meet with Ates Yeger, he ran late because, "I was giving an 80-something-year-old computer training," he said.

And, all this because a popular computer company's support line didn't get the job done two decades ago.

"I'm really thankful to them," Ates Yeger said, laughing.
