Morristown Dairy Has Closed its Doors

Cafe sold soups, sandwiches in addition to desserts.

There is one less dessert stop for those seeking to feed the need.

, a small cafe on Speedwell Avenue, closed up shop recently after just over two years. Kendra Arnold, co-founder of Bike and Walk Morristown, snapped the photo on Monday that lets prospective business owners know the space is available.

Sally Kosic, one of the owners, said Monday a family illness in her native Montenegro had taken priority. When she returned, Kosic said–not knowing how soon she and her sisters would have to return home–she decided to close the business.

Morristown Patch's "Morristown Munchies" columnist Vincent Gragnani . Back then, he said the turkey sub he had ordered didn't have much flavor, but the ice cream–a scoop of banana and a scoop of espresso chip–were a refreshing end to a late summer meal.

morristown is becoming a highly competitive marketplace... with stores dropping like flies due to competition. I wonder how 3 yogurt shops can exist along with all the cupcakes and ice cream shops... Morristown needs unique businesses - not more of the same stuff... wish I had the capital to create something fun & exciting...

Plus, it was on Speedwell which didn't do it any favors.

There was a place in Morristown called the Morristown Dairy?
Motown Resident July 31, 2012 at 12:11 AM
It's still hard to believe that the "other side" of town can turn away businesses.

I'm with you, Peter. I had no idea about Morristown Dairy and I've lived here for nearly 6 years!

Oh that's too bad - Morristown Dairy is where we had our very first ice cream cone!! Gian and Tony
Chris August 01, 2012 at 02:19 PM
Well, its not that they turn away businesses. People with money to spend don't want to go over there.
Chris August 01, 2012 at 02:23 PM
Yeah, I never heard of it, either. From the other comments, I guess its in the Columbian/Hispanic part of town. Nobody really ever goes over there.. so I can see why they are going out of business. I mean if someone from Morris Township or Mendham or Chatham want to come for a night out in Morristown... they aren't getting Ice Cream at the Morristown Dairy.
Chris August 01, 2012 at 02:25 PM
You mean get out and have all the Hispanic guys gawk at my girlfriend, stare her down and get harassed while we truck through the Spanish part of town??? No thank you. If you have ever been out in town with girls and encounter a group of hombres from over there... you know what I am talking about. Girls hate it. My G/F wouldn't even get out of the car if we went over there.

@Chris, actually, it was right across from the Hyatt.
Chris August 01, 2012 at 02:45 PM
@John. Cool. I was just going off of the other comments. Either or, that side of town isn't an area where "tourist" tend to flock to. Or at least the Hyatt is the furthest POI.
CRA Motown August 02, 2012 at 07:26 PM
Chris my wife agrees with you 100%. She does not even like to take the train because of those "hombres" what a shame that ICE can't come to Morristown and clean this garbage up.
The Mud Lady August 02, 2012 at 11:29 PM
The only place I sometimes go to in that stretch of Speedwell is the bar in the Hyatt. Other than that, there is nothing redeeming there. The only time when it's tolerable is on Parade Day when Danny's Pub isn't bad.

No, they are good living their sheltered lives, they can stay indoors. They might step out and get hit by an Asian who cant drive or a Black guy might rob them or some Mexican might stare at their vanilla girlfriend and she might just die from it or even worse he wont get laid for taking her to the Spanish part of town. What a joke, people sound so ignorant.
