Morristown Medical Center Pharmacy Opens to General Public

Patients can retrieve prescriptions prior to leaving facility.

Morristown Medical Center’s pharmacy is now open to the general public and, conveniently, will now be processing patient’s prescriptions prior to their discharge.

Patients can now fill their prescriptions before leaving the hospital, according to an announcement made by Atlantic Health Wednesday. The option eliminates the need for patients to stop by another pharmacy after being discharged.

Health care providers can call in orders or family members can drop off the prescription while the person is being discharged.

Even non-patients can now use the pharmacy, which is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Most insurance plans are accepted, and Atlantic Health Employees may also use the facility.

Just like the neighborhood store, pharmacists are available to answer questions and explain medication side effects. Prescriptions can be sent to Morristown Medical Center Pharmacy and easily transferred to a patient’s local pharmacy.
