New Morristown Cleaners Business Offers 24/7 Service

Green Village Cleaners hosted its grand opening on Monday and plans to be up and running in a few days

Monday morning was a long-anticipated grand opening for Green Village Cleaners located at 130 South Street.

Owner Jong Hoon Park previously ran Golden Cleaners, which has been located near Burnham Park on Washington Street for over two decades.

“We’ll be opening very soon … in several days,” said Jong a Randolph resident.

His daughter Grace Lee, who also works at the cleaners, said the family did not have a choice but to move from their current location, which they have occupied for 23 years. "The lease tripled," she said. "It's just way too expensive."

The family eyed the empty lot on South Street and bought it in 2009, said Jong. After many meetings and months with the town, they were finally approved at the end of 2010. In 2012, construction started after a ground breaking ceremony.

The new space occupies 3,465 square feet, larger than the previous Golden Cleaner’s 2,650 square-foot location.

The new location boasts “green” features and a 24/7 automated service where customers can sign in through a computer screen and drop off or pick up clothes any time day or night.
