Provesi Owners Sued For $60K in Lost Wages, Damages

Former chef at Joseph and Bart Lubrano's Publick House restaurant claims owners failed to abide by federal fair labor standards.

Segundo Chicaiza says his former employer, the Publick House restaurant on Main Street in Chester, owes him a total of $60,000 in back pay and other damages from his four years working there.

Chicaiza was a chef at the restaurant from 2007 to 2011. The Publick House is owned by Joseph and Bart Lubrano, according to a report by newjerseyhills.com. who also own Provesi Ristorante in Morristown.

In Aug. 2013 Chicaiza's lawyer, Roman Mikhail Avshalumov, filed suit against the restaurant, the report said. The suit claims Chicaiza is owed $40,000 in unpaid overtime, and another $20,000 in damages when the Publick House failed to abide by federal fair labor standards, the report said.

The case is currently before Magistrate Judge Mark Falk in the U.S. District Court.
