Take the Cannoli: Godfather's of Morristown Opens at The Highlands

New restaurant joins neighbor Cambridge Wines to fill open retail space.

Spring is in bloom in Morristown, but we’re not talking about the foliage.

As flowers and trees bud with the warmer temperatures, so do new businesses.

Most recently the Godfather of Morristown opened its doors officially at The Highlands of Morristown Station on April 28, according to a press release from Cahn Communications.

Morristown Mayor Tim Dougherty joined with the restaurant’s owners to cut the ceremonial ribbon and bring a variety of seafood, Italian fare and brick oven pizza to new customers.

“This restaurant is a great addition to Morristown,” Dougherty said at the opening, according to the release. “With all of the different menu items they offer, there is something for everyone. It’s a great place to bring your family and it’s a great place to just stop and get some pizza. They have a beautiful patio and we are excited to have them here. I know the owners are very committed to Morristown.”

The ownership team isn’t new to the business, as the company’s flagship location sits in East Hanover and has a large following.

“We had a lot of customers at our East Hanover location who lived in Morristown, and we always loved the location, so when we had the opportunity to expand we jumped at it,” said Jared Gottheimer, a partner at The Godfather of Morristown, in the release. “So far, the response from the community has been overwhelming. We are meeting new customers every day and our business continues to grow. We look forward to being a part of the Morristown community for a long time.”
