Talk on Chronic Myeloid Leukemia Set for Saturday

The speaker for this event will be Dr. Eric Feldman, the director of hematological malignancies who currently oversees the leukemia program, the lymphoma/myeloma program and the bone marrow transplant program at Weill Cornell In New York City.

With overall cancer deaths declining in the US, CML in particular has truly seen a dramatic change thanks to new therapeutic advances, according to organizers. Deaths from chronic myeloid leukemia have decreased from 2,300 to 270 according to the American Cancer Society.

"Of course as a result, more and more people are actually living with the disease and continue to need the tools that can inform their everyday lives," organizers said in a press release about the event."
