Morristown Wine Shop Offering Delivery Service Moves Forward

Owners also plan to host classes on wines and craft beers.

Those looking for wine to be delivered table-side to their favorite BYOB restaurant are in luck.

The incoming business Cambridge Wine Cellars LLC got its last stamp of approval Tuesday night when the Morristown Town Council unanimously approved the transfer of a liquor license to Cambridge.

Locals Anthony Dinelli, 24, and David Bernat 22, are taking advantage of the "BYOB" nature of many Morristown restaurants with Cambridge Wines at The Highlands at Morristown Station, next to the incoming restaurant, The Godfather.

“People had to trek across town to get liquor, and all those places were lottery ticket stores. We wanted to give them something more sophisticated and high-end that was reasonably priced,” said Dinelli.

“We wish them great success. Look at how young these entrepreneurs are,” said Mayor Tim Dougherty. “It’s really exciting to have this kind of energy in this town, so we really wish you great luck.”

After leasing the space in January, they plan to open at the end of June or early July, but that may be pushed up to an earlier date.

“This group is under a tight timeline. They said that the town has been working with them,” said Councilwoman Raline Smith-Reid.

“We have to make a sale by June 25 so we don’t have to renew our license again,” said Bernat.

As for their grand opening, they plan to hold off and do a joint event with The Godfather.

On top of selling unique wines, craft beers and liquors, they plan to have wine and beer clubs and classes. Deliveries will be one of their features.

“We just bought a Vespa, and we plan to cater to the BYOBs by delivering our items tableside, or you can call Cambridge ahead of time and have it there when you arrive at the restaurant,” said Dinelli, adding that they plan to do home deliveries as well.

Deliveries to BYOBs need to be made beforehand by calling Cambridge Wines.

“This is 100 percent legal to send someone a bottle of wine as long as the sale has been made through the premises and will not be made at the location to where it is being delivered,” said Bernat in a Patch comment.

“For example if you wanted a bottle you just give us a call and order it on the phone or come to our store purchase it and we will bring it over to the restaurant for you, when the bottle leaves the store it is already marked as sold.”
