What Should Replace Tomato Pie?

We want to know what business you would like to see occupy this space.

Morristown is known for its vital and ever-changing landscape of small businesses that comprise the downtown area.

Recently, Tomato Pie closed unexpectedly after being evicted from their space. We want to know what you would like to see fill the void left by vacated eatery?

Let us know what you want to occupy this space in the comments below.

A bar or another financial institution would be a great addition. If not, a new yogurt place...

A BBQ place. A churrascaria. Korean BBQ. A gastropub. A brewpub. Good dumplings. Vietnamese. A brewery. A brewpub. Seafood. Anything other than sushi, pizza or generic crappy frozen pre-cooked "American Bar Food".

Let's all get clear on what should not be there first: A bank, A yogurt shop, Sushi, Pizza/ Italian, Steakhouse, Another college hangout bar/pub, Lastly not another coffee shop or dry cleaning place! What might be good is something completely different like: A noodle bar, Cubana restaurant like the old chachacha, a live jazz lounge would be very cool Maybe adult comedy club, or An authentic tapas bar. An upscale gay friendly martini lounge might be long overdue idea for this growing town. How about an old world market. Finally my two favorite suggestions are to have an awesome fresh seafood restaurant. Not frozen seafood pawned off as fresh like many other supposed "good" seafood restaurants in the surrounding area. But a real fresh seafood restaurant or a 100% vegetarian restaurant similar to veggie heaven in Denville. That's just my opinion and I like it. Great conversation generator topic. Thanks Patch.

It would be wonderful if Learning Express came back to town! They are a wonderful toy store, and offered free wrapping, which was so awesome during the holidays! I hate driving up route 10 to get to them!

I think what Morristown doesn’t need is another eatery (or drinkery) of any kind. There are already enough restaurants/bars to choose from, and clearly enough to be pulling business from out of town. In my opinion, what is needed are more practical businesses… convenient for the residents of Morristown… businesses that help us in our daily lives and give us an opportunity to support the local businesses. I realize that the high rents and taxes are limiting this kind of opportunity but a store like Suburban Shoes in Madison, for instance, would be wonderful in Morristown. That store has survived there for many years because of great selection, great shoe-people service and great hours. There are a lot of young and growing families in town who would love the opportunity to save themselves a trip to the mall when their kids need shoes. When Gap and Gap Kids were located on the Green, I shopped there all the time. We need more retail anchors like that… too many restaurants and banks already.
