In honor of our anniversary, we wanted to once again take the time to remind you why we're here and what this site is all about. Simply put, it's about you.

We've built Patch so that you have plenty of opportunities to comment on stories, share your opinions, post photos and announcements, add events to the community calendar, and even contribute your own blog about life in Morristown (whether it's local sports, health, religion, food, or even your personal experiences) We hope that our site will strengthen the community, but we can't do it without you. 

1. Comment on an Article

We subscribe to the idea that "news is a conversation." Much of our reporting will emanate from what readers tell us in emails, comments on our sites and in conversations around Morristown. Share your thoughts and reactions to our articles by posting a comment directly below each story.  

2. Blog About It

What is this crazy thing the kids keep talking about these days? Blogging? We here at Morristown Patch have jumped on this newfangled bandwagon, and we want you to join us! Live or work in Morristown? Want to write about your life here? Have something to share? Coaching a local sports league and want to post the scores? Do you have time to post something every week? Every month? With blogging, it's your call. We welcome your contributions as often, or as infrequently, as you can give us.

Do you know if , a new or an art exhibit at just needs to be seen? Is there a or coming up? If it's not on our Patch calendar, it should be. Feel free to add events to our site at morristown.patch.com/events/new.

4. Send a News Tip

At the bottom of the homepage, there's a link that says, "Send Us News Tips." Tell us about stories we should cover. Your tip will be sent straight to , Morristown Patch's editor.

5. Get Your News and Information on the go

It’s an app-happy world and we’re just living in it. Luckily, Patch goes everywhere your phone does. We have free apps for iPhones and Androids. The iPhone version gives access to news, photos, the business listings and more. The Android app, called Patch Places, is a full list of the businesses in your area. You can change your location on the apps when you’re traveling to give you the best local information from our nationwide Patch network.

6. Post an Announcement

Post births, engagements and wedding announcements. Tell us who made the honor roll or share school awards, social notes and thank you shout outs. If you're looking for volunteers or searching for your lost dog, we welcome you to call on your Morristown community for help. Just remember, our Terms of Service say announcements should be for personal use and not for advertising.

7. Sign Up for Daily Newsletters

Our team of researchers actually hit the streets and visited businesses, schools, parks, libraries and more so we can provide photos as well as detailed information such as products sold and hours of operation. Patch's Q&A section is the place for you to ask your questions and show off your expertise, all while connecting with your neighbors. Patch would like to extend an invitation to every member of the Morristown community to submit a letter to the editor.
