Derby Girls Roll Into Meeting, Present $1,000 Donation
Morris County Park Commission public meeting took place Feb. 28.
Those roller girls from the Jerzey Derby Brigade can be sort of scary, but that's just on the track. There were no hip-blocks or illegal elbows at the Feb. 28 meeting of the Morris County Park Commission at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum, where the Brigade showed up, in force, to present a $1,000 donation.
The Jerzey Derby Brigade has made community involvement an important part of their sport. They've raised funds for multiple groups, including the and Relay for Life and collected canned goods for local food pantries at their bouts.
The Brigade's season opener is Saturday, April 2 at Inline Morristown, 38 Dumont Place. It will be one of eight home bouts scheduled this season. Check out the rest of their schedule here.
