Nearly 3,500 in Morristown, Township Without Power Tuesday Afternoon

Down lines reported at Sussex Avenue and Cutler Street.

Down power lines at Sussex Avenue and Cutler Street have resulted in power outages in the area, Morristown Police said.

According to a Nixle alert released by the police Tuesday at about 5 p.m., the down lines have caused outages and affected traffic lights in the area. Police said to expect traffic delays.

JCP&L crews were on the scene repairing the issue, police said. JCP&L reported only 172 of the original 3,479 that had lost power were still in the dark at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Power was back on in that area, which also includes Walker Avenue, by 8 p.m. However, a reader in the Fairchild section of Morris Township said power was still out as of 8:30 p.m.
