Downtown Halloween Festivities Still on for Monday

Look for pumpkin stickers in downtown Morristown from 3 to 5 p.m., indicating participants.

The calendar may say it's November, but in downtown Morristown, Monday was still Oct. 31.

With Hurricane Sandy cancelling or delaying pretty much every plan made last week, Halloween was just another victim. However, a bright spot was announced when the Morristown Partnership-sponsored "Trick or Treat in Downtown Morristown" event was rescheduled for 3 to 5 p.m. on Nov. 5.

Make sure to look for the pumpkin stickers in business windows, which can be seen at various locations throughout town.

According to a press release issued Monday by the Partnership, however, participants are asked to stay in the downtown, "due to the extent of downed wires and trees that currently remain in our neighborhoods. ... We cannot risk injury to anyone in our community while trick or treating."
