Finding Direction in Morristown

Here are five ways to get somewhere today.

You won't need a compass to enjoy today's direction theme here on "5 Things!"

  1. You Need to Know About the Power of Imagination: Books can transport you pretty much anywhere–north, south, east or west. Remember what Giordie LaForge said on Reading Rainbow: Take a look, it's in a book. And, this inexpensive mini-vacation can be yours at 10 a.m., as the continues its used book sale.
  2. You Need to Know About Substance Abuse Education: For families and teens, this free Family Service of Morris County program is at 5 p.m. And, what does this have to do with direction? Well, what should be done when your teens are feeling directionless ...?
  3. You Need to Know About 'Due South:' We're not very good at direction, but Ginty Field in Morris Township may be due south of Morristown. Either way, just a quick trip out of town at 7 p.m. for the township's free outdoor concert series will get you a seat for a performance by the Due South band.
  4. You Need to Know About 'Paris Washboard:' Ooh la la! Part of the summer jazz series, this performance is at 8 p.m.
  5. You Need to Know About 'Gipsy Kings:' Known to be a traveling culture, gypsies have long been the stuff of myth (and, of late, a reality television program about their weddings). These "gipsies," however, will settle down for at least one night, at , at 8 p.m.
