Flash Flood Warning Issued for Area

Warning in effect until 6 p.m. for Morris and Sussex.

Don't take off the rain gear just yet.

While much of the day was spent in gloom and a little misty spray, the National Weather Service is reporting a Flash Flood Warning in effect until 6 p.m. for Morris and Sussex counties.

Locations in the warning include, but are not limited to, Morristown and Newton, according to the alert.

The National Weather Service asks that drivers not drive into areas where water covers the roadway. The water depth may be deeper than drivers realize.

The area should not expect a break from this nasty weather until Wednesday, when the National Weather Service predicts sunny skies and temperatures in the low-to-mid 80s.
