Flood, Flash Flood Warnings In Effect Wednesday Evening

The washout of the week continues.

Hope you didn't make any outdoor plans for Wednesday night.

Continuing a several-days-long trend, the National Weather Service's latest warnings, issued shortly before 5 p.m. on Wednesday, called for potential flash flooding in Morris County until 8:30 p.m., with flood warnings in effect until nearly 3 a.m.

Flash flood warnings are also in effect for Sussex and Warren counties, until 8:30 p.m.

According to the NWS, nearly one-and-a-half inches of rain have already fallen across the region, with an additional inch of rainfall possible during the rest of the afternoon and this evening.

Anyone planning to participate Thursday in at the –may want to make their coffee at home and take the car in. The NWS is predicting rain, and possibly thunderstorms, to continue throughout Thursday and Friday in Morristown, with a slight chance of rain early Saturday morning before finally clearing up. Temperatures are expected to climb to nearly 80 degrees on Saturday, with sunny skies and a high of 75 degrees expected in Morristown on Sunday, according to the NWS.
