Market Street Mission Seeks Help After Loss

Thrift Store recovery from hurricane expected to cost $50K.

Hurricane Irene's fury affected many in Morristown, from residents to businesses. Also, non-profits, such as Market Street Mission's thrift store, as explained in the press release below:

The , located at 25 George St., in Morristown, was knocked out of operation after being flooded by Hurricane Irene.

All merchandise was destroyed when the first floor was filled with mud and water during the storm. The Mission store expects to be closed for approximately three weeks and the loss of merchandise and lack of sales during that time is estimated to cost the Mission $50,000 dollars. They are hoping to start sending their trucks around for pickup in approximately a week and hope to once again have clothing, furniture, cars and bric-a-brac for sale soon.
