Morris School District Students Raise $13K for The Seeing Eye

Pocket change leads to big money through "Coins for a Cause" program.

That pocket change rattling around might not seem like much when it's just a few coins, but over time–say, eight weeks–it can really add up.

That was evident when the student contributions from the Morris School District's participation in the "Coins for a Cause" program led to a $13,437.82 donation to The Seeing Eye recently.

Students at the Morris School District annually vote for a local charity to be the beneficiary of their “Coins for a Cause” fundraiser, and this year’s winner was The Seeing Eye. The students, in pre-kindergarten through high school, brought in pocket change over an eight-week period, raising a total of $13,437.82. The total also includes a $1,000 donation from
Provident Bank, which helped tally the students’ votes.

“We’re very grateful to these students, who worked so hard and gave so much to The Seeing Eye,” said James A. Kutsch, Jr., President and CEO of The Seeing Eye.
