Dominic Tomaio was named "super lawyer" by New Jersey Monthly magazine.

Going through a divorce can be a stressful time for all parties involved.

While many may think an abusive relationship or irreconciable differences are the main reasons couples divorce, that is not the case, Tomaio said.

"Most divorces are due to boredom," Tomaio said. "Over the years, a married couple drifts apart. There is a lack of attention to one another."

Tomaio's program will focus on the resources available to couples to make the divorce process easier on all parties involved, including children.

"Couples going through divorce need to know their rights, responsibilities, child custody issues, the splitting of personal assets and general support, Tomaio said.

There are many support groups throughout New Jersey for divorced couples, Tomaio said. In Morris County, support can be found at the Morris County Battered Women's Shelter in Morristown. The shelter, he said, is for both men and women who have been abused both physically and mentally.

Tomaio is certified in New Jersey by the New Jersey State Supreme Court as a Matrimonial Law Attorney specializing in all aspects of family law.

"Mr. Tomaio's seminar will provide valuable information and a neutral ground to consider the various aspects of divorce, including alimony and child support," said Alexa Metrick, the Montville Library's public relations director.

Tomaio is a partner in the law firm of Townsend, Tomaio and Newmark, located at 30 Madison Ave., in Morristown.
