A hospital stay is not easy for most of us. But, Morristown resident Alexa DiNorscio hoped to make it just a little more comfortable when she delivered cookies to The Cancer Center at Saint Barnabas Medical Center as part of her recent bat mitzvah project.
The press release is below.
As part of Alexa DiNorscio's bat mitzvah project, she invited a few close friends to bake hundreds of cookies at a Supreme Bakery, South Orange. The Morristown resident then delivered the cookies to The Cancer Center at Saint Barnabas Medical Center for distribution in their waiting rooms for patients and their families going through treatment. Alexa and her friends individually wrapped and labeled each cookie with a sticker that read "Baked with hope that this sweet treat will make you smile and brighten your day."
In addition, Alexa and her parents presented the Saint Barnabas Medical Center Foundation with a check which represented a portion of the gifts she received for her bat mitzvah. Alexa designated her gift to the Gene Doyle Oncology Patient Assistance Fund to be used to assist oncology patients with such items as medications, clothing, and other necessities during their illness.
