Police: Expect Traffic Delays on Parade Day

Road closures to start at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday.

It's to be expected: On Saturday, March 10, the anticpates there will be traffic delays around town, as the weather is expected to be nice, and thousands upon thousands of people are expected to descend upon Morristown for the annual Morris County St. Patrick's Day Parade.

On March 10th, 2012, between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. road closures will be in effect for the Morris County St. Patricks Day Parade. Traffic detours will be in place and traffic delays are anticipated. The parade will start at 12:00 Noon at the corner of South Street and James Street. The parade route is South Street to Atno Avenue.

Road Closings will start at 11:45 a.m as follows: 

South St.- from Hamilton Rd to the Morristown Green 

Morristown Green (Park Pl) – on all sides 

Speedwell Ave- from Spring St to the Morristown Green 

-Detours heading Route 24 Eastbound 

Right onto Budd St., left turn onto Miller St, left onto Western Ave, right turn onto Ann St, right turn Bank St, left turn onto Macculloch Ave, right turn onto James St, left turn onto Ledgerwood Parkway, left turn onto Headley Rd, and or left turn onto South St, 

-Detours heading Route 24 Westbound 

South- St – right turn onto Hamilton Rd, left turn onto Franklin St, right turn onto Elm St, left turn onto Morris St, right turn onto Spring St, right turn onto Speedwell Ave, left turn onto Early St, left turn onto Mills St, right turn onto Washington St.
