  1. You Need to Know About the Weather: Have you been prepping for the first day back by trying to get to bed at a decent hour? How's that worked out for you? Since this last day of summer vacation is going to be a washout, this is going to be the last time you get to sleep in. Kind of counter-productive to trying to get the old sleep cycle back in line, but, oh so satisfying.
  2. You Need to Know About Getting Up: Once you do finally get up, go for a walk around town. Don't forget your umbrella. Remember, doing this at 10 a.m. won't be possible tomorrow. It's the little things.
  3. You Need to Know About the Band-Aid Effect: Does this extra day feel kind of like pulling off a Band-Aid reeeeeeeeal slowly? Don't let it. Rip that sucker off and get studying. Summer's over.
  4. You Need to Know About Supplies: If you're like some of us (read: us), you're not always the most prepared for certain situations. Like school. Did you get all the paper you need (are you even using paper in school these days?)? Pens and pencils (same question)? Is your iPad fully charged (that's what I was thinking of all along)? Make this extra day count and make it look effortless. Unless, of course, it takes effort.
  5. You Need to Know About Practice (Makes Perfect): For many of you, you're already getting up early, getting ready for fall sports. So, yeah, nevermind.
