Road Closures on Parade Day: Be Prepared

Be prepared before you're left without a place to park.

Think parking can be a problem in Morristown on regular days? Try parking when over 50,000 people are expected to watch a parade with over 120 groups participating.

On Saturday, March 12, road closures will be in effect between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. for the annual Morris County St. Patrick's Day Parade. Traffic detours will be in place and delays are expected. The parade will start at noon at the corner of South and James streets, right near South Street Apartments and . The parade route is South Street to Atno Avenue.

There will be no parking allowed after 8 a.m. on the following streets:

  • Washington Street, Atno Ave, Western Avenue
  • The entire Green
  • Dehart Street
  • South Street from the Green to James Street

Additional road closure information (closing at 11:45 a.m.):

  • South Street,  from Hamilton Road to The Green
  • The Green (Park Pl. ) on all sides
  • Speedwell Avenue,  from Spring Street to The Green
  • Washington Street,  from The Green

Detour heading  24 Westbound

South Street  - right onto Hamilton Road, left onto Franklin Street, right onto Elm Street, left onto Morris Street, right onto Spring Street, right onto Speedwell Avenue, left onto Early Street, left onto Mills Street and Right onto Washington Street.

Detour heading 24 Eastbound

Right onto Budd Street, left onto Miller Street, left onto Western Avenue, right onto Ann Street, right onto Bank Street, left onto Macculloch Avenue, right onto James Street, left onto Ledgerwood Parkway, left onto Headley Road and right or left onto South Street.
