School Meetings, Green Movies This Week

Also, music ranging from the marimba to classic southern rock.

It's the workweek again. What can you expect this week in the Morristown area? Check it out!

  1. Board of Education: It has been a while since the last BOE meeting for the Morris School District. The wait is over, however, as they will convene next at 7:30 p.m. on Monday at the Lafayette Learning Center.
  2. REEL Green Movie Night: What happens when one of Hollywood’s leading comedy practitioners and the creative force behind such blockbusters as “Ace Ventura,” “Liar Liar,” “The Nutty Professor,” and “Bruce Almighty” comes face to face with death after a biking accident? To read the rest of this, click here and learn more about a free documentary showing at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday at Unity Charter School in Morris Township.
  3. Other Meetings in the Pipeline: Besides the BOE, several other meetings are happening this week. These include at Zoning Board of Adjustment meeting in Morristown on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., and a Township Committee meeting in Morris Township also is set for Wednesday, at 7 p.m.
  4. What's a Marimba? It's a musical instrument that, when in the hands of artisans create beautiful music. Enjoy a marimba master during a 30-minute recital at Morristown United Methodist Church's "Music at Noon" series Thursday at 12:15 p.m.
  5. The Only Place Where Yelling 'Freebird' Isn't Annoying: We're kidding, it's still annoying. But, at least it will make sense at Thursday night's Lynyrd Skynyrd concert at the Mayo Performing Arts Center. Still annoying, though.
