So, We're a Day Late: 5 Parks in Town and Outdoor Activities There

The weather might not be as compliant today to outside fun, but we can plan ahead to the next sunny day.

When we wrote our "5 Things" yesterday, we were a little hungry. Hence, why we chose to cover restaurants instead of focusing on the downright balmy weather we enjoyed.

Now, the temperature has plummeted back to more seasonal levels, and we're left with only memories of a summer's day in early April.

But, wait! Warm days will return! You will get another chance–many, even–to don those flip flops and shorts, tank tops and sunscreen. And, today, we offer five parks in town with amenities fit for summertime fun.

  1. You Need to Know About Lidgerwood Park: Popular with dog walkers and baseball fans alike, this large neighborhood park is perfect for running some of that built up energy out of Fido, as well as yourself.
  2. You Need to Know About Speedwell Park: A crowning jewel, this park near the Morris Township border on Speedwell Avenue is a perfect destination for a quiet lunch, watching the lake meander on its way. Patriot's Path also cuts through here, for those who would rather ride their lunch hour.
  3. You Need to Know About Jacob Ford Playground: With tennis courts, this neighborhood park is a great place to work on your back swing (or, whatever tennis term you can think of that may be more appropriate).
  4. You Need to Know About Burnham Park: While the municipal pool is not yet open, folks can still enjoy a nice stroll around the lake, watching birds, and time, fly by.
