St. Patrick's Day Parade, Beatles Concert Highlight Weekend Events

Here’s a sample of what’s going on this weekend in and around Morristown.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The largest St. Patrick’s Day celebration in Morris County. Downtown Morristown. Saturday, March 9 beginning at noon. Raindate is March 23. 

‘An American Diplomat in Franco Spain, Morris County Library, Saturday March 9 at 2 p.m. Dr. Michael Rockland will discuss his latest work, “An American Diplomat in Franco Spain, meeting Martin Luther King Jr. and Teddy Kennedy, and historical events in Madrid during the 1960s. Pianist Thomas Pandolfi present a concert featuring music by Scarlatti, Schubert, Chopin, and Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue.” A reception will follow the performance. Morristown United Methodist Church, Saturday March 9 at 7:30 p.m. 

The New York Voices will be performed at Roxbury High School on Saturday March 9 at 7:30 p.m. The Roxbury Arts Alliance is co-sponsoring the performance. Proceeds will benefit the Roxbury Choir Department. Tickets are available at the Roxbury Recreation Department.

Beatlemania at the Bickford Theatre, Saturday, March 9 at 8 p.m. This national touring show features a chronological tracing of the Fab Four’s career. Call the box office to purchase tickets at 973-971-3706.

Comedian Joe Matarese will perform his stand up set at The Comedy Shoppe at Brick 46 Saturday March 9 at 9:30 p.m. Matarese has been featured on “Chelsea Lately,” “The Late Show with David Letterman,” “Comedy Central Presents,” and NBC’s “Last Comic Standing.”
