Morris Habitat for Humanity Looking for Volunteers

Opportunities not limited to construction.

It's the New Year, which means it's time to make your New Year Resolution...and this year, actually stick to it.

Morris Habitat for Humanity, which has become widely recognized for its dedicated construction volunteers building decent, affordable housing for low-income families, wants people to know that it’s OK if swinging a hammer isn’t your thing, because volunteer opportunities aren’t limited to the construction field.

Since 1985, Morris Habitat has served 107 families with its home building and home repair projects, and while the organization recognizes that volunteer construction workers are needed most during the winter months, they also offer opportunities outside the construction field.

Those who like to shop may enjoy volunteering at the Morris Habitat ReStore- which has built four homes and diverted nearly 1,000 tons out of landfills since opening in 2007. Others may enjoy volunteering with one of the many committees focused on feeding families in the area.
