Town Council Meets Tonight: Here's What is Happening

The council will discuss several issues, as well as issue proclamations and more.

It's Tuesday, and the last Town Council meeting was two weeks ago. So, you know what that means. It's time for another Town Council meeting. Come out and be involved in what is going on in your town. If you have an issue to present, something to praise, something to take issue with, get out and get up to the mic!

Here are five things to be aware of for this week's meeting.

  1. You Need to Know the Meeting is at 7:30 p.m. in Town Hall: Don't be late, as you might miss certain portions, including the general public comment portion, where you can go before the council about anything racking your brain about town issues.
  2. You Need to Know About a Week of Healing: It is the National Week of Prayer for the Healing of AIDS this week. We'll have a story on an event being held in conjunction with the week at today. But, also, is involved, as noted by a proclamation to be read at the council meeting. Check with your religious institution of choice to see if they are involved in the week of prayer, as well.
  3. You Need to Know About 'Women's History Month:' A resolution expected to be passed during the meeting, it designates March as "Women's History Month."
  4. You Need to Know About the Sustainability Committee: Seeking to find ways to be better to the earth, the Sustainability Committee is looking to name new members. This will be discussed during the "unfinished business" portion of the meeting.
  5. You Need to Know About a Letter re: : As of now, we do not know what the letter entails. It could be good, it could be less than good, but it's under "correspondance" as "Peck School letter from residents."
