Week in Review: 'We'll Try Anything!!'

This week included preservation fund acquisition, excitement surrounding the big football game, and an opportunity for you (yes, you!) to win $100 for your favorite charity.

Another busy week in Morristown. When is it not a busy week? With school in session, the holiday season in full swing, the bars and restaurants open and eager for business, there never seems to be a shortage of things, to do, or to highlight from the week that was.

Preservationists will be happy to know that county funds, about $250,000, . The plan, once state funds are acquired, is to purchase the property, take down the house and utilize the property as a neighborhood park.

Also on Monday, Morristown Patch introduced a compilation every weekday morning of some events during the day you should definitely keep an eye out for, whether it's a reminder of a town meeting, or a reminder that it's karaoke night at the Famished Frog.

On Tuesday, we began a contest! We want you, our readers, to come up with ideas on . If you have checked out some of what we have tried so far, , or test our limits (of our embarrassment). Yes, . The idea we vote as the best will win $100 toward the contest winner's charity of choice. You still have until Sunday night to e-mail your idea, so get crackin'!

On Thursday, Morristown Munchies reviewed, kind of by accident, . We had originally planned to review George & Martha's, located next door, but didn't want to appear gluttonous. Check out the review for clarification.

Thursday, actually, was one of the busiest days of the week, with several big events taking place. Certainly big for the Murphy family was . The senior will next year be headed to U.C. Davis, which, besides providing lacrosse scholarships, also is known as a premiere wine school. Best of luck to Kailani, in both her academics and athletics next year.

The big football game, between Morristown High School and Nutley High School, kicked off right about the same time as this article's posting, and we here at Morristown Patch are rooting for the Colonials possibly as much as everyone else, though that might not be an easy task considering the overwhelming support backing this hard-working team. .
