Where to Find the Best Black Friday Deals in the Morristown Area

Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday rule the shopping roost after Thanksgiving.

If you have a black belt in Black Friday shopping, listen up: area big-box retailers are gearing up to dazzle bargain hunters even earlier this year—starting on Thanksgiving Day!

Last week, Walmart announced that it would open its doors at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 22, and offer holiday doorbusters while supplies last. These include deals on TVs, iPads, an electric scooter for $79 and a steam mop for $39.

Not to be outdone, Target and Best Buy are also planning all-out holiday shopping assaults.

Target's deals begin at 9 p.m. According to an ad leaked online, the best deals will be for TVs, a Nook, a Nikon camera and an XBOX 360 Kinect bundle.

At Best Buy, doors open at midnight. Doorbusters include deals on TVs, phones and Samsung laptop bundles.

Walmart will offer its biggest deals from 10 to 11 p.m. on Thanksgiving night. The store will offer three items at low prices—an iPad, a TV and a Blu-ray player. If the store runs out, you can still buy them at discounted prices but you must register for them online by midnight and have them delivered to your local store.

The nearest Target can be found at 130 Route 10 in East Hanover. Best Buy is also in East Hanover, at 410 Route 10. The Walmart closest to the Morristown area is in Cedar Knolls, at 235 Ridgedale Ave.

According to TheBlackFriday.com, several other stores will also have doorbuster sales on Thursday night or at midnight on Friday, including Kohl's at 1711 Route 10 in Morris Plains.

For the early morning traditionalists, some stores will open at 4 a.m. with special sales. If you want to keep up with all of the Black Friday deals, you can check your favorite retailers' Facebook pages.

And of course there are special discounts and freebies being offered in conjunction with Black Friday and the shopping weekend:

  • Morristown Partnership is once again offering "Gift Greenbacks" for the holiday season, good at over 180 Morristown businesses. For every $50 in "Gift Greenbacks" purchased, you will receive $10 in "Gift Greenbacks" for free. While supplies last.
  • Starbucks is running a "Buy 1 Get 1" holiday drink special everyday from 2 to 5 p.m. through Sunday, Nov. 25
  • Blue Morel in the Westin Governor Morris in Morris Township is offering a "Black Friday" deal through Nov. 30. Purchase a $100 gift card and receive a free $20 gift certificate (for use on your next visit in 2013). Offer available in person at Blue Morel to the first 50 guests from Friday, Nov. 23 to Friday, Nov. 30
  • 7-Eleven will offer free coffee to weary Black Friday shoppers all day

If you know of other deals, or if you own a Morristown area business making a special Black Friday offer to customers, share the news in the comment section.

Want to avoid the holiday shopping mega-crowds altogether? Look for Cyber Monday deals on Nov. 26 or visit your local mom-and-pop retailers on Small Business Saturday on Nov. 24.
