2013 TURKEY TROT WALK/RUN FOR LITERACY VOLUNTEERS & INTERFAITH FOOD PANTRY

The race has become one of the largest
in the area, and has become an integral part of many familes' holiday
celebration. Last year, the race attracted almost 3,000 participants and was a
very successful fund raiser for two local charities: the Interfaith Food Pantry and the Literacy Volunteers of Morris County


For those of you who may not be familiar with our organizations:


http://www.mcifp.org/ The Interfaith Food Pantry provides supplemental food and
emergency non-perishable food to eligible Morris County families in need.The
pantry currently distributes an average of 1.7 tons of food a day and provides
assistance to 12,000 people a year.   


The IFP provides hands on opportunities for  neighbors to help neighbors and educates the
public about the issues of hunger in our area. 


http://www.lvamorris.org/ Literacy Volunteers of Morris County
promotes increased literacy and fluency in English for adult learners through the use of dedicated, trained volunteers and support staff. Each year more than 350 tutors help almost 1,000 individuals improve their ability to read, write and speak English, so that they are able to work, raise their children, and live healthy, independent and productive lives.
