5K Run/Walk to Fight Pulmonary Fibrosis

The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation New Jersey Affiliate will be hosting the Fifth Annual Garden State 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, September 21, 2013. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (PFF) and will be utilized to support their mission to help find a cure for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), advocate for the pulmonary fibrosis community both locally and in Washington, D.C., promote disease awareness, and provide a compassionate environment for patients and their families. Approximately 50,000 new cases of IPF are diagnosed each year and as many as 40,000 Americans die from this disease annually.

The Garden State 5K Run/Walk will begin at 10:00 AM at Nomahegan Park located at 1033 Springfield Avenue in Cranford, New Jersey. Barbara Murphy, the head of the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation New Jersey Affiliate, has been the main organizer of the event for the past five years and has turned it into one of the most successful fundraising events in support of the PFF. Our goal this year is to raise $20,000 for the cause.

Registration for the event is $10.00 per adult and $5.00 per child with each registrant receiving a free t-shirt (while supplies last).
