The Madison – Florham Park Interfaith Council will hold its annual Yom HaShoa (Holocaust memorial) interfaith service on Monday, April 8, 2013 at Grace Ep8iscopal Church in Madison (4 Madison Ave.) at 7:00 PM. Rabbi Kenneth M. Tarlow, rabbi of Congregation Beth Torah in Florham Park, has announced that the guest speaker will be Mr. Harry Ettlinger. Mr. Ettlinger, along with his family, escaped Germany in 1938 and came to this country. A few years later, he returned to Europe as a soldier in the U.S. Army. He served in a small and very unusual group that was originally called, “Monuments, Fine Arts & Archives Section” and later became known simply as the “Monuments Men.” Mr. Ettlinger will bring to us a most unusual perspective about a rarely known aspect of the Holocaust. Members of Grace Episcopal Church’s Harmonium Chorale will offer musical selections, and the Rev. Lauren Ackland, Rector of Grace Episcopal Church, along with other members of the Interfaith Council will lead the service. The community is encouraged to attend.
