SHOPPING SPREE FOR A CAUSE

Design Spree, a unique “storehouse” (high-end, warehouse-style furniture store) with two locations in Maywood & Lawrenceville, New Jersey, will be hosting “Shopping Spree for a Cause” to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County, a non-profit organization located in Oradell, whose mission is to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the face of the earth by working in partnership with people in need. The event will be held on Thursday, April 25th from 6-9 pm at Design Spree, located at 29 W. Essex Street in Maywood. Light fare and wine will also be served.

The exclusive shopping event will include a scavenger hunt inside Design Spree for the chance to win a grand prize of a $200 gift card from Design Spree and second and third place winners will receive a gift of jewelry from Devon Fine Jewelry. Each $5 ticket will include one coupon for 25% off any single item in the Design Spree showroom and the opportunity to win fabulous prizes donated by Devon Fine Jewelry and Design Spree. Guests will also be able to learn about the Boiling Springs Savings Bank Community Alliance Program (CAP) and find out how they can help Habitat Bergen earn more donation dollars through this program.

“Design Spree has had a long standing relationship with Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County and we are thrilled to be teaming up with them again to benefit local residents that were hit so hard with Hurricane Sandy,” said Jay Wagnon, president of Design Spree. “Hurricane Sandy greatly affected New Jersey, including Bergen County, and we are honored to have the opportunity to contribute to the rebuilding efforts within our local community.”

About Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County:

The goal of Habitat Bergen is to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the face of the earth by working in partnership with people in need. Using volunteer labor and donated funds and materials, Habitat Bergen builds or rehabilitates simple, decent houses and sells them to low-income families at cost, but with no interest added. Habitat Bergen is a people-to-people partnership, which joins all of us together regardless of race, nationality, religion, or socioeconomic status. That partnership begins with the homeowner families (partner families). Habitat Bergen is not a giveaway program, but a joint venture in which those who benefit from the housing ministry are involved in the work at various levels. They help with the construction of their own home, as well as the houses of their neighbors. For more information, please visit www.habitatbergen.org.
