Up on the Rooftop Benefit Concert - FREE
Raise your holiday spirits to the rooftop. Join us for a holiday celebration with musical styles from pop to opera on December 7th at 7 PM to support the repair of the roof. . When hurricane Sandy hit, it blew off most of the four spires on the steeple of the church. One of them pierced the slate roof. Donations for repair of the roof will be accepted at the concert.
Hurricane Sandy’s serious damage was to one of Rockaway’s historic landmarks. In addition to its traditional church activities, First Presbyterian Church is home of many community organizations such as the Boy and Girl Scouts, AA, Families Anonymous and the Rockaway Food Pantry.
Come to enjoy musical talent from within the community and friends of the church as we gather to help restore the roof. Performers will include: Jeremy Galyon, baritone opera singer who has recently performed at the Metropolitan Opera and Carnegie Hall; the Denville Dance Academy; the Church Street Ringers and Genesis Ringers handbell choirs; as well as a variety of other vocalists and more. Free admission; donations appreciated.
The church is located at 35 Church Street (Route 513) in Rockaway. For information, please call (973) 627-1059.
We hope to see you there.
