Fighters against Jim Crow:the Forgotten History of African American Baseball
Presenters Dr. Lawrenace Hogan and Robert Scott, who played with the New York Black Yankees from 1946-50, will take a journey into several places where we can see black baseball caught up in the racism of the Jim Crow era in American history, as well as stand in opposition to the racial order that had assigned African Americans to an inferior place in American society. Special attention will be played to two of those places- Atlantic City, NJ from 1916-1928 and Yankee Stadium on July 5, 1930.
