Midnight Movies at 7: Screening of Sharknado (2013)

In what is being dubbed as one of the “best worst movies of all time,” Sharknado––a made-for-TV-movie airing first on the Syfy Network––caused a firestorm of publicity this summer when multiple celebrities, and then thousands of their fans, tweeted about the movie, including Glee star Cory Monteith, right before his death in July.   The hype surrounding the movie was enough to garner dramatic readings by staff on the TODAY Show and even comedic comments from the Mayor of Los Angeles.  The plot centers around a massive hurricane hitting the city of Los Angeles engulfing sharks from the ocean into waterspouts that flood the streets with shark-infested waters and also rain down on the city.  ‘Nuff said?

As part of an occasional series entitled “Midnight Moves at 7” (showing cult and B-movies traditionally shown at Midnight Movie houses), the Morristown & Morris Township Library is providing a screening of Sharknado (2013) on Thursday evening, September 26 at 7:00 p.m.  Light refreshments will be served.  This program was made possible thanks to funding from the Friends of the Library.
