Millionaires, Mansions, and Maids Rescheduled

Millionaires, Mansions, and Maids will be presented by Amy Curry, Director of the Morris County Historical Society, at the Morris Museum on a new date, Thursday, February 20 at 2 p.m. The presentation explores Morristown's Gilded Age through an inside look at some of the most widely recognized mansions of Morristown and the local vicinity. Touting more millionaires per square mile than New York City at the turn of the 20th century, Morristown's millionaires boasted a combined wealth of over $289 million, and their summer homes served as a showcase for that wealth. While certainly not inclusive, this lecture will provide an insightful look at some of the most widely recognized and most opulent homes. Registration is required. Call 973-971-3706 to register. Tickets: $15/Members of the Morris Museum and Morris County Historical Society; $20/Non-Members.
