Healthy Weeknight Meals for Families: Far Hills Country Day School Announces New Far Hills @ Night Program

FAR HILLS, NJ – How do you cook for a family of picky eaters...that is easy to make...and healthy???? It's not easy, but this event will give you some options! Far Hills Country Day School (FHCDS) invites you to the 1st Far Hills @ Night, our new educational series. Cookbook Author Caroline Campion will share recipes that are simple, healthy and family-tested on Tuesday, February 25 from 7:00-8:30 PM at 697 Mine Brook Road/Route 202, Far Hills, NJ. These are recipes that don't require a culinary degree to prepare and use simple, healthy ingredients.

Campion, a Peapack & Gladstone resident, will discuss her recently released cookbook, Keepers: Two Home Cooks Share Their Tried-and-True Weeknight Recipes and the Secrets to Happiness in the Kitchen. She will be sharing tips from the kitchen as well as wisdom she has learned from her experience as a magazine editor for Good Housekeeping, GQ, Saveur, and Glamour, and as creator of the award-winning food blog www.DevilAndEgg.com. There will also be sampling of food from the book.

According to the Boston Globe, “(u)nlike many cookbooks purporting to offer mastery of the weeknight dinner, ‘Keepers’ focuses on nothing but. There are no desserts or baked goods, no entertaining dishes, just mains and sides.  Because of that, and because these recipes are consistently fast (no locating, toasting and crushing 10 spices together, or instructions to roast and peel a half dozen peppers before you begin), it may be the best-value weeknight cookbook around.”

Preregistration is necessary and can be made www.fhcds.org/keepers. There is a $10 per person requested donation for the benefit of the Morristown Community Soup Kitchen, payable at the door. Copies of the book will be available for sale at the event.
