Girl Scouts Gather 699 Backpacks for Filipino Counterparts

School supplies, funds for replacement uniforms gathered after typhoon devastates the Philippines.

Students in the typhoon-devastated Philippines are receiving some much-needed help very soon, thanks to the Morristown Service Unit of the Girl Scouts.

More than 230 Girl Scouts came together to attend the Share event on April 4 at Woodland School in Morristown, which came from dozens of troops from all over northern New Jersey.

The Service Unit put together the collection of 699 backpacks containing school supplies, which will be sent to the Philippines. The scouts are also raising funds to provide replacement Girl Scout uniforms for Filipino girls who last theirs in the typhoon.
