Morristown Church Waives Fees For Same-Sex Weddings

Morristown Unitarian Fellowship performing ceremonies free of charge until Nov. 3.

As part of their celebration marriage equality, the Morristown Unitarian Church will be offering free same-sex weddings until Nov. 3, according to Director of Religious Education Tim Atkins.

"Over the next two weeks Rev. Alison Miller and other officiants are opening our sanctuary doors to same sex couples that have been waiting to get married, for no charge," Atkins said. "Sunday afternoon would be just the perfect time to get married, don’t you think?"

Those couples that already have a New Jersey civil union license and don’t have to do the 72 hour waiting period. Those couples can be married immediately, Atkins said.

Those interested can call 973-540-1177 ext. 204 or email office@muuf.org to schedule wedding today.

The Morristown Unitarian Fellowship was founded in 1955 to serve the needs of those in the Morristown, New Jersey, area who wished to be part of a religious community that values social equality and the freedom of individual spiritual beliefs. While the church has waived their regular wedding fees, they will still accept donations.
