Urban Farm Produce Sales Winding Down

Sept. 27, from 6 p.m. to dusk, is your last chance this season for inexpensive produce.

'Tis the season.

Now that fall has arrived, sundown is coming sooner, nights are getting chillier, some familiar signs of summer are saying "so long."

One of those, the Thursday and Saturday produce sales at Grow it Green Morristown's Urban Farm at Lafayette, takes its last bow for the year on Thursday.

Grow it Green Morristown's farmstand has provided low-cost fruits and veggies from the Urban Farm all summer. After Thursday's 6 p.m. to dusk farm stand, said farm manager Shaun Ananko, the remaining product grown at the farm will be shifted to the cafeteria at Morristown High School, which has worked with Grow it Green since last year.

For your last opportunity to eat fresh for less, the Urban Farm has bell peppers, hot peppers, eggplant, kale, tomatoes, carrots, beets, okra and herbs like rosemary, thyme, parsley and more.
