First Night Morris Renews Focus on Giving Families the Perfect New Year's Eve Experience

The is the 22nd year for Morris County's annual Dec. 31 celebration of the arts.

Planning continues for the 22nd annual First Night Morris, the county New Year’s Eve tradition that promises a family-friendly, alcohol-free alternative for ringing in 2014.
Organizers' goal, they say, is to make the night memorable, and to accomplish this, the event wll feature more than 80 entertainment offerings in 25 locations through downtown Morristown, includiing interactive elements,  fireworks, community, arts and almost every type of performance anyone could want to see. 

Organizers say that this year's event is all about going back to basics to enhance each guest's “First Night Experience” with free shuttle buses to venues, an emcee on the Morristown Green from 7 p.m. to midnight, information kiosks, a community expo, a Future Artist Development initiative, children's programs (starting at 5 p.m.) and more.

Discounted early-bird single and four-pack pricing for First Night Morris is available through Saturday. The single ticket price goes to $25 starting Sunday. If you'd like to volunteer for the event, organizers say you'll get free admission either before or after your scheduled shift.
