Where to Donate Food This Holiday Season

There are many different ways you can lend a hand.

Food pantries across Morris County are always looking for donations, and this year is especially tough. Many pantries across the state are all but bare as the holiday season approaches.

So how and where can you donate?  The county boasts a primary resource you need to talk to if you have the giving spirit:

The Interfaith Food Pantry is available to help anyone who needs food. Anyone interested in making a donation of nonperishable food items may stop by its offices at 2 Executive Drive in Morris Plains Monday through Friday between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The pantry asks that if it is possible, call the office at 973-538-8049 to schedule your holiday delivery. Monetary contributions are welcome too.

The pantry has special guidelines for holiday donating. Turkeys are accepted for the season, however, IFP asks that turkeys be kept separate from other items. If your donation includes a turkey, please let IFP know so that the bird is not overlooked.

In addition to the Interfaith Food Pantry, there are local efforts throughout the area that assist the hungry during the holidays. Contact one in or near your town for details on what help they need and how you can lend a helping hand:
