A Salute to all WWII Veterans

As tomorrow marks the seventy-second anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, the Morris County Historical Society would like to thank all of the men and women who served their country during World War Two. The brave soldiers, sailors, pilots, doctors, chaplains, and nurses who protected freedom both at home and abroad continue to serve as inspirational heroes to the generations who have followed them. We are grateful for the sacrifices of not only these heroes, but also of their families.

The men and women who served in the Second World War are mostly a part of The Silent Generation, a label used by psychologists, sociologists, and historians to describe those who were born between 1925 and 1942. MCHS would like to invite this generation to be silent no more. If you were born between 1925 and 1942 and would like to share your experiences of the WWII years, whether you served in the armed forces or not, please email mchsacornhall@gmail.com or call 973-267-3465 for more information on our ongoing Oral History project. Together, we can work to preserve these memories and share them with generations to come, ensuring that the lives and actions of our countrymen are not lost.
